Definition: Consumption of own production
Category: Consumer Price Index
Goods or services that are consumed by the same household that produces them. The housing services consumed by owner-occupiers fall within this category. If goods and services produced and consumed within the same household are to be included in CPIs, prices must be imputed for them. Their inclusion or exclusion depends on the intended scope of the CPI. http://www.ilo.org/public/english/bureau/stat/guides/cpi/index.htm
