A detailed economic program, usually supported by use of International Monetary Fund (IMF) resources, that is based on an analysis of the economic problems of the member country and specifies the policies being implemented or that will be implemented by the country in the monetary, fiscal, external, and structural areas, as necessary, to achieve economic stabilization and set the basis for self-sustained economic growth. http://www.imf.org/external/np/exr/glossary/showTerm.asp
