Definition: Weather

Category: National accounts

Actual changes in temperature, rainfall and other weather variables have direct effects on various economic series, such as those concerned with agriculture production, construction and transportation, and consequent indirect effects on other series. It could be argued that these climatic factors are the true seasonal effect, being a consequence of the annual movement of the earth's axis which leads to the season. Weather can lead to major effects, too.
