Category: Classifications

The United Nations Standard Product and Service Classifications (UN/SPSC) is an open, non-proprietary system of codes and standardized descriptions for classifying goods and services.

The UN/SPSC is a classification schema designed to group together common goods and services. It is not an attempt to be a common product numbering system. The UN/SPSC detail covers many product types, but does not normally consider the specific product attributes (size, color, performance, etc.) or application.
