Branch as defined in Article 1 of the Council Directive 92/49/EEC of 18 June 1992 (Third Non-life Insurance Directive) ( ) and Article 1 of Council Directive 92/96/EEC of 10 November 1992 (Third Life Assurance Directive) ( ). The following geographical breakdown of the number of branches abroad has to be used: each single other Member State, other EEA countries, Swit-zerland, USA, Japan, other third countries (rest of the world).
