Definition: Seasonal workers
Category: Social statistics
In some industries such as agriculture, forestry, fishing, hotels and some types of construction, there is a substantial difference in the level of employment from one season to the next. For the purpose of the labour force survey, paid workers in such industries are not considered to have a job but not be at work in off-season.
