Definition: Resampling
Category: Land Use/Land Cover
The process of recalculation and assigning a new spectral value for the pixel location in the geo-referenced image is called 'Resampling'. It is based on the values in the local area around the uncorrected pixels in the original image matrix. Resampling may be carried out by using simply the value of the nearest neighbour pixel or by interpolation using a window around the old pixel position. http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/ramon/statmanuals/files/KS-34-00-407-__-I-EN.pdf#page=87
