Definition: Regional GDP

Category: Regional accounts and indicators

Regional GDP figures are estimated down to NUTS level 3. The regional breakdown is made according to the regional structure of gross value added (GVA) at factor costs or, where these data are not available, gross value added at market prices. Where extra-regio data are available, their GVA are allocated proportionally to all the regions in a given country.
From 2000 onwards data according the new ESA95 will be transmitted. From then onwards gross value added at basic prices will be available dow to NUTS level 3.
