Definition: Redundancy compensation

Capital sums paid to employees who have been dismissed through no fault of their own by an enterprise that is ceasing or cutting down its activities. This benefit may be paid either directly by the employer or by a fund set up for the purpose.

This definition is identical in versions 1996, 2008 and 2011 of the Manual.
