Biomass and renewable wastes cover organic, non-fossil material of biological origin, which may be used for heat production or electricity generation. They are the sum of solid biofuels (excluding charcoal) (code 5541), charcoal (code 5544), biogas (code 5542), municipal waste (renewable) (code 55431) and liquid biofuels (code 5545). Industrial waste should be reported under non-renewable waste.
