Definition: Part-time (PT) S&T personnel
Category: Science and technology statistics
Part-time (PT) S&T personnel are defined as "those personnel who devote only part of their working time to a given scientific and technological activity". For reasons of symmetry with the previous definition, the UNESCO manual specifies that, in practice, only those staff who devote between 10 and 90 per cent of their working time to a given STA should be classified as PT personnel whereas staff who spend less than 10 per cent should be excluded altogether. http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/ramon/statmanuals/files/Canberra_Manual_1992_EN.pdf
