This sector consists of enterprises which are institutional units, i.e. enterprises whose distributive and financial transactions are distinct from those of their owners. They are principally engaged in the production of goods and non-financial services. The term "quasi-corporate enterprises" covers all units without independent legal status whose economic and financial behaviour is different from that of their owners and resembles that of corporate enterprises.
