Definition: Total gross production (Code 17_107000)
Category: Energy
This aggregate is the sum of the electrical energy or heat production by all the generating sets concerned (including pumped storage) measured at the output point of the generating machine (alternator) without the deduction of electricity or heat used in the plant or lost in other plant equipment. Power plant producers are classified either as "Main activity producers" (plants operated by private or public owners which are producing the electricity or heat for sale to third parties as their main business) or as "Autoproducers" (plants operated by private or public owners which are not producing the electricity or heat as their main business, but wholly or partly for their own consumption). Power plants can be classified as electricity only or heat only plants (designed to produce only electricity or heat) or CHP plants (designed to produce both heat and electricity). http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/ALL/?uri=CELEX:32008R1099
