Definition: Graduated random rounding (GRR)

Category: Data protection

Graduated random rounding (GRR) rounds the total number of individuals (employees, cows, sheep, etc) within a cell by adding protection that depends on the size of the number. In this way, the noise added forms a proportion that increases with the size of the number. http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/ramon//coded_files/NZ_microdata-output-access-guide-2013.pdf
