Definition: Strategic benchmarking
Category: Common Assessment Framework (CAF)
Strategic benchmarking is used where organisations seek to improve their overall performance by examining the long-term strategies and general approaches that have enabled high performers to succeed. It involves comparisons of high-level aspects, such as core competencies; the development of new products and services; a change in the balance of activities or an improvement in capabilities for dealing with changes in the background environment. http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/ramon/statmanuals/files/CAF_2013.pdf
