Process for the biological treatment of waste water in which the pollution is reduced by specific micro-organisms under a condition in which dissolved oxygen, nitrate and nitrite are absent. Pollution breakdown leads to the formation of biogas (based on CEN definition). Anaerobic treatment methods require high temperature to establish good reduction of organic pollution.
