Definition: Individual services

Category: Purchasing power parities

A term used to describe the services (and goods) provided to individual households by NPISHs (Non-profit institutions serving households) and general government. Such services include housing, health, recreation and culture, education and social protection. They do not include the overall policy-making, planning, budgetary, co- ordinating responsibilities of government ministries overseeing individual services. Nor do they include government research and development for individual services. These activities cannot be identified with specific individual households and are considered to benefit households collectively. They are classified under collective services. http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/product?code=KS-RA-12-023&mode=view
