Definition: Reweighting

Category: Foreign AffiliaTes Stat. (FATS)

Reweighting consists of raising the original weights for the respondent values when estimates are computed. Reweighting is used mainly in cases of unit non-response. It may also be used to increase precision through the use of auxiliary information. Standard methods include post-stratification, calibration and response propensity modelling. http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/product?code=KS-RA-12-016&mode=view
