Definition: Forest available for wood supply

Forest where any legal, economic, or specific environmental restrictions do not have a significant impact on the supply of wood (FAO definition).

Forests available for wood supply are forests where no legal, economic, or environmental restrictions have a bearing on the supply of wood; it is here that large volumes of commercial wood are generally harvested (Eurostat, "Forestry in the EU and the world.
