A module in an editing system from which files for paper questionnaires, data entry modules, editing software, CATI, CAPI, and summary software are generated. The specifications generator is the unifying feature in Integrated Survey Processing software. In the Blaise system, the Blaise Questionnaire can be considered to be a specifications generator.
