Definition: Europroms

Category: General concept

Europroms is a CD-ROM that includes PRODCOM data compared with foreign trade data. The aim is to give data on apparent consumption of each available PRODCOM heading. Apparent consumption is calculated by adding imports to production and subtracting exports. This is published for around 4000 PRODCOM headings. A prerequisite for calculation the EU15 apparent consumption of a PRODCOM Heading is that data is available from all Member States and that the PRODCOM Heading in question has a unique link to the Combined Nomenclature, i.e. the nomenclature of the foreign trade statistics. The CD-ROM is updated every month in order to include the latest data from the Member States.
