Definition: Organised learning

Organised learning is defined as "planned in a pattern or sequence with explicit or implicit aims. It involves a providing agency (person or persons or body) which sets up the learning environment and a method of teaching through which the communication is organised. The method is typically someone who is engaged in communicating or releasing knowledge and skills with a view to bringing about learning, but it can also be indirect/inanimate e.g. a piece of computer software, a film, or a tape, etc" (ISCED 1997, § 10, page 4). http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/ramon/statmanuals/files/KS-BF-06-002-EN.pdf ISCED 1997
