Net area planted - surface solely occupied by trees, (in contrast to "gross area planted", i.e. the total area of the plot - the net area does not cover service areas, roads, irrigation ditches, headwaters etc.). Of the areas under related crops, the surface under area fruit trees is calculated on a "pro rata" basis.
